Advanced Distribution Management Systems Test Bed Project Workshop 2026
Join us and your peers in the power sector for the Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) Test Bed Workshop, to be held Oct. 14–15, 2026, at the National Laboratory of the Rockies.
NLR and partners will present results from ADMS Test Bed projects. Attendees will learn about laboratory evaluation of the latest methods used by utilities for grid sensing and monitoring, resource aggregation, medium-voltage power conversion equipment, and microgrid management.
The workshop will feature a live demonstration of the NLR Agora Test Bed, which our partners use to evaluate large-load interconnections such as industrial facilities. In addition, we will offer an optional tour of NLR’s Flatirons Campus featuring microgrid capabilities.
Optionally, join NLR's Strategic Partnerships Office a half day early on Oct. 13 in the afternoon to explore emerging hardware innovations, grid-edge technologies, and analytical approaches shaping the future of energy systems. Short, engaging presentations and a panel will share the breadth of research at NLR for planning, investing, building, and operating future energy systems, especially related to large load integration.
Space is limited so please register as soon as possible to reserve your spot. Later registrations will be considered on a per-person basis.
As a U.S. Department of Energy laboratory, the National Laboratory of the Rockies is a closed site. All non-U.S. citizens (including Canadian citizens, permanent resident aliens, and resident aliens) are required to obtain advance approval and must submit a Foreign National Access Request (FNAR) by Aug. 14. After registration of the ADMS Test Bed workshop, NLR staff will contact non-U.S. citizens with a copy of the necessary FNAR and additional instructions. Without the completed form (which will be sent digitally) and approval from the NLR Foreign National Office, we will not be able to provide you access to the NLR campus.
ADMS Test Bed: The ADMS Test Bed, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Electricity, enables utility partners, vendors, and researchers to evaluate existing and future grid controls, such as ADMS and distributed energy resource management systems, in a realistic laboratory environment that includes software simulation of distribution systems and field equipment integrated through hardware-in-the-loop techniques.
